Before your repair appointment

Prepare your device. Save time at check-in.

Apple requires Find My to be removed or turned off before service. A few minutes now can help us begin your repair without delays.

01 Know your password

Confirm your Apple Account password before you arrive.

02 Remove Find My

Choose the correct method below so Apple can authorize service.

03 Back up your device

Repairs can sometimes require the device to be erased.

Step 1 · Apple Account password

Confirm your password first.

You will need your Apple Account password to remove Find My. Verify that it works before your appointment so a reset does not delay check-in.

Verify it with Apple

Sign in at account.apple.com using the email address or phone number and password connected to iCloud. If you can sign in successfully, your password is ready.

Verify your password

Forgot your password?

  1. Open Settings and tap your name.
  2. Tap Sign-In & Security.
  3. Tap Change Password and follow the prompts.
Reset with Apple

A one-hour Security Delay may apply. With Stolen Device Protection, changing your password can require Face ID or Touch ID, a one-hour wait, and another biometric check. Please do not leave the phone with us while the delay is running—you must remain with the device to complete the reset. Account recovery can take several days or longer in some cases.

Step 2 · Disable Find My

Find My protects you and your device.

Find My includes Activation Lock, a security layer that helps prevent someone else from using or servicing your Apple device without your permission.

Apple will not allow service to begin while Find My is on. Turning it off confirms that the device is here with the owner’s authorization.

You will need your Apple Account password. This is the email address or phone number and password used for iCloud—not simply your device passcode.

Choose the right method
